The Music Without Borders project arises from the need of two people (Myriam Hidber Dickinson from Switzerland and Jean Carlos Romero from Venezuela), to communicate, to raise awareness and of the need to give love, hope and strength
through music to the people who are going through difficult times due to the situation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Myriam is an extraordinary Swiss flutist and has a great love for Venezuelan music. Jean Carlos is a Venezuelan musician who breathes the music of Venezuela, and they have collaborated to produce this musical work, to bring it out
with much love and affection for all the people who inhabit our beautiful planet.
Together they have produced 31 songs contained in 2 albums, an EP and a single. They have also produced Venezuelan flute and cuatro tutorials for some of their songs.
The interpretations of the flutist Myriam Hidber Dickinson and from Jean Carlos Romero - and/or from the singers of Jean Carlos Romero's homtown - let us forget that Switzerland and Venezuela are separated by a great distance and by many borders.
Musica sin Fronteras - a lively listening pleasure full of love and liveliness.
Myriam Hidber Dickinson was born in Switzerland. She earned her teaching diploma with Felix Renggli at the Conservatory in Schaffhausen, her concert diploma with distinction* with Marianne Stucki at the Zurich University of the Arts
ZHdK (former Conservatory Winterthur). This was followed by additional studies on the baroque flute with William Dickinson at the ZHdK. Between 2001 and 2014, several concert tours and teaching contracts gave her the opportunity
to work at musical academies in Indonesia and Brazil.
Currently, she gives concerts regularly in various formations with modern and historical instruments. In addition, she is on the road as a soloist with orchestras in Switzerland, Brazil, Bulgaria and Serbia. She teaches at her own
Studio Miss Flute (also online lessons and online coaching) as well as at the Musikschule Zürcher Unterland. And she regularly gives master classes in Brazil, Bulgaria and the USA.
Critics praise Myriam Hidber Dickinson as a musician who possesses a rare gift for thoughtful musical interpretation. She has the courage to follow her own path and to immerse herself in the musical world she happens to find herself
in.
